Seventh National Development Plan 2006-2010 Republic of Maldives > Sectoral Working Groups
Different sectoral working groups covering all aspects of the Maldivian economy and society have been established to allow stakeholders to achieve a common vision for their sector for the future. These contain representatives of the Government, social partners, civic society and special interest groups.
These will gradually develop the programme to be implemented in the given sector in the period 2006-2010 as a contribution to an overall national objective of social and economic development.
A common thread flowing through each group is the need to ensure 5 key elements are represented:
Governance
Poverty Profile
Gender
Preservation and Protection of the Environment
Achieving the Millennium Development Goals in Maldives
